Building Resilience: Supporting Medically Fragile Individuals in Our Community

This year, members of the Alaskan Way team had the honor of attending the 2025 Homelessness Connect event in Anchorage — a powerful day dedicated to collaboration, compassion, and community. Hosted by local partners committed to ending homelessness in Alaska, the event brought together service providers, advocates, and individuals with lived experience to share resources and strengthen connections. From health screenings and housing assistance to employment support and cultural resources, Homelessness Connect continues to be a space where community meets hope. For Alaskan Way, this event reflects our mission of “building resilience in our community through our community.” We were proud to stand alongside so many organizations working to ensure that no one in Anchorage faces homelessness alone — especially those who are medically fragile or unable to meet their activities of daily living (ADLs). Our participation also gave us the opportunity to share updates about Qasgiq House, our upcoming shelter designed to meet the needs of individuals who are often turned away from traditional shelters due to medical or functional challenges. Events like this remind us how deeply our work is rooted in partnership and shared vision. We extend heartfelt thanks to all the organizers, volunteers, and participants who made this year’s Homelessness Connect a success. Together, we’re taking steps toward a more compassionate, inclusive Anchorage — one where everyone has access to the care and dignity they deserve. #AlaskanWay #HomelessnessConnect2025 #Anchorage #CommunityCare #BuildingResilience
